May was a blur. It dawned on me yesterday morning that since the middle of April I have been going full tilt. Starting a new job, a book trailer, visiting relatives, two book events, and the premiere of The Janus Affair only highlights the madness that was May. This week marks the end of a powerhouse of promotion and networking, and it seems only right that Pip and I end our power play in the city that never sleeps — New York.
What makes this trip an epic ending for our Janus Affair launch is we will be working both sides of the Javitz Center. Initially we were invited as guests of Blogworld. The amazing Cliff Ravencraft has put together one incredible podcasting track, and with the patience of Job (as he was finalizing everything in May…) he has worked both of us into the programming.
At the same time, Pip got us a signing at Book Expo America!
It’s been a while since I’ve done BEA and I’ve never done it in New York; but if it is anything like how it was in Washington D.C., I’m going to have a blast watching Pip as she hits the BEA floor. It’s a show! For those of you who are long time fans of my podcast productions, you all remember my own experience at Washington D.C.’s BEA. Maybe you even caught my interview with Sam Calagione. It’s a who’s who of publishing, and I was pleasantly surprised when SFWA contacted Pip and invited the both of us to hold a signing.
So here’s our schedule in the Big Apple for both Blogworld and Book Expo America:
From Book to Podcast & Back Again
Tuesday, June 5th at 2:30pm Room 1A16

THE REAL SPHEIL: The Realistic Approach in Monetizing Your Podcast

And here’s a note to consider about our BEA signing. Pip and I will have copies of Phoenix Rising, The Janus Affair, Geist, and Spectyr ready for signing and giveaway; but after cleaning out our closet (which was nice as we were making room for the new books coming out this year) we have other gems (some out of print!) from our writing past.
This is out last event until Dragon*Con 2012, so please don’t be shy. We hope to see you at the Javitz Center this week!
